- Wash and Soak split moong dal for 3-4 hrs. In a pressure cooker add soaked dal, water, salt and hing. Give 3-4 whistle. Switch off the flame.
- Now in a pan add ghee, heat it. Add hing, Jeera, when it splutter, add chopped onion, ginger and garlic. Add whole red chili. Add green chilli also.Cook till onions are translucent.
- Next add a pinch of turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chili powder. Cook nicely. Then add chopped tomatoes, and salt. Cover it with lid and cook till tomatoes are cooked properly.
- After that add boiled dal to the tomatoes mixture. Mix properly. Let it cook for 1 boil.Now add garam masala and cook for 1-2 min. Switch off the flame.
- This dal can be served it rice or roti.
