  1. Wash and soak basmati rice for 20 minutes... Slice mushrooms and keep it ready..
  2. In a pressure cooker or in heavy bottom pan heat oil and ghee on medium flame. Add the whole garam masala, saute for a minute, Add sliced onions and saute it until translucent.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes away. Add slit green chilies, chopped coriander and mint leaves. Saute for 2minutes
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, salt and cook until soft. Add spice powders and saute for a minute add lemon juice..
  5. Add chopped mushrooms, mix well and cook until mushrooms are done. Add coconut milk, 1 and 1/2 cup water and let it come to a boil.
  6. Check for salt and add the drained rice and let it cook until water is absorbed. Cover the lid and put it on dum for 10 mins.
  7. Switch off the flame and let it rest for 10 mins. carefully mix the rice
  8. Serve hot your scrumptious mushroom biryani along with your favourite raita/gravy..
